Senior ERP Functional Consultant — Accounting Background
Shenzhen,
China
Who we are
Majorbird is an Odoo Silver Partner (since 2020), founded by a Chinese-French team and headquartered in Nanshan, Shenzhen. We are an international team of 17 people across offices in Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and Mexico. We have delivered 100+ ERP projects and specialize in the complex, multi-company, multi-currency and cross-border implementations that most partners shy away from — across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America.
We are technical, product-minded and on the edge: deeply involved in advanced technologies and a real understanding of how businesses run. We like to say that ERP is the best business school for the modern time — with us you see how real companies operate (finance, supply chain, manufacturing, sales) and you learn to make them better.
The role — Senior ERP Functional Consultant (Accounting / Finance Architect)
You are the finance architect on our projects — someone who understands double-entry accounting, cross-border tax compliance, and can translate both into Odoo. For our clients, finance is the underlying language of their cross-border operations, and you own that layer end to end.
What you'll do
- Finance architecture & compliance delivery (60%): lead the full finance lifecycle on Odoo (general ledger, AR/AP, fixed assets, cost accounting, multi-currency cash management, consolidated reporting) as finance-module lead or project manager.
- Design and deliver cross-border, multi-entity finance architecture: unified group chart of accounts, intercompany elimination, transfer-pricing documentation support, and automated multi-currency consolidation.
- Implement localized tax compliance: Vietnam e-invoicing (Hóa đơn điện tử), Mexico CFDI, Saudi Arabia ZATCA (Fatoora) e-invoicing, EU VAT filing interfaces, and China export-rebate / ODI compliance data.
- Author the Finance Blueprint, Chart-of-Accounts Design, Consolidation Plan and Tax-Compliance Configuration manual — audit- and filing-ready for the client CFO.
- Executive dialogue & solution conversion (25%): work directly with client CFOs, finance directors and overseas-subsidiary finance leads, turning tax-compliance and consolidation pain into Odoo solutions; support pre-sales demos that close deals.
- Team & knowledge (15%): mentor 1–2 junior consultants, set finance-module configuration standards and checklists, and build a reusable cross-border tax-compliance knowledge base.
Must-have
- 3+ years of ERP finance-module implementation (or 2+ years on SAP FI/CO, Oracle EBS or NetSuite finance + commitment to pass Odoo certification), with an accounting / finance background.
- Finance depth: proficient in Chinese accounting standards, familiar with IFRS; able to design a group chart of accounts, cost-center structure, multi-currency translation and consolidation logic; aware of transfer-pricing basics.
- Leadership and mentoring ability.
- English able to chair multi-national finance meetings and write English solution docs (Cantonese a plus).
- Written English is mandatory.
- Spoken English is required — you will work directly with international clients.
Nice-to-have
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, tax-advisor or Odoo Functional Consultant certification (OCA/OCP).
- Cross-border, multi-entity finance delivery (consolidating 2+ countries/regions at once).
- Familiarity with China ODI compliance / outbound capital flows, or Vietnam / Mexico / EU local tax, e-invoicing or VAT filing.
- Client-side finance-director / FP&A / shared-service experience now moving to consulting.
- SQL / Python basics to write reconciliation scripts or simple reporting queries.
What's great about this role
- See projects end to end and own real impact — not a tiny slice of a giant machine.
- Work on genuinely complex, multi-company / multi-currency systems, not cookie-cutter setups.
- Grow fast with senior mentoring and a clear path from Junior → Senior → Lead.
- Join an international team that is technical, fair and in it for the long term.
What we offer
- Salary: 12,000–25,000 CNY/month, based on experience.
- Project bonus — accrued quarterly on the collections of the projects you help deliver.
- Pre-sales / signing commission — a share of the deals you help demo and close.
- Sponsored Odoo certification — exam fees fully reimbursed — plus ongoing training.
- Annual leave: 5 days after your first year, +1 day per year up to 15 days.
- One extra paid day off at Christmas (part of our Chinese-French team culture).
- Shenzhen tier-1 social insurance & housing fund (五险一金).
- Quarterly team-building, holiday gift boxes and a birthday gift.
- Company-provided equipment.
- On-site at our Shenzhen office, with occasional travel to client sites (within Guangdong, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Mexico and the Middle East).
How we work
- We respect our people, so they respect the company. We are fair and we build for the long term.
- We are not a body shop — a product-minded partner that treats Odoo as a living system, with radical transparency and no hidden agendas.
- You join a small, senior, international team where your work is visible and your growth is real.
